It’s a new month, which means you can start over (because no one has to remember all the terrible things that happened in February – got it?) March is the perfect time to reinvest in you. You haven’t accomplished any of the resolutions you wanted to do in January, because let’s face it; you set the bar too high. Take time to reevaluate your goals and invest in yourself this month.
With four easy steps, you can revamp your personal brand and end March feeling good about your online presence (honestly, isn’t that what we all want?).
Be consistent. Consistency in design will really help in launching a blog, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest or Facebook. If your blog and Twitter don’t have a similar look or feel, people are going to be confused with your message. Don’t confuse your followers (if you’re anything like me, they are few and far between – don’t lose them)!
Do what you love. What’s that, you love to skydive naked? That might be illegal, but I mean, hey, let your freak flag fly. I’m not an avid follower of naked skydiving, but I bet if you wrote about the exhilarating feeling, or painful landings, you would probably have a decent following. Write about something that you are passionate about. I am passionate about PR and writing, and now I’m writing about writing (the internet is a weird place where you can do this). Whatever you decide to do, just be passionate about it!
QR code it all. Oh, you have a business card, good, stick a QR code on it. Oh you have a resume? QR code it. Oh, you want to get a tattoo? GET A QR CODE. Okay, that last one might be a little much. Either way, if you have an online presence, have a QR code to link people to it. A QR code is easy to make, you can make a free one here, and it can directly link people to your Twitter, blog, YouTube or really anything online.
Logo it up! If you are on multiple sites, get a logo. A logo shows you mean business. If you don’t have any creative skills, find a friend who can help you design one. A logo is a great way to make your brand stand out. Just make sure you are really in love with your logo, rebranding is a lot of work.
So this March, dedicate some time to your personal brand.
