Meg Meets the Ocean

OceanLately, I have been drawn to water. I feel like the ocean has been representing my current life stage. Then I started researching what water or the ocean symbolizes and I realized how much it actually did describe me.

One theory I found said that the ocean represents life and living, the waves symbolize the struggles and hardships a person will go through. In addition, water is a universal symbol of change and is often present at turning points in a story. The ocean is known for being unpredictable and uncontrollable, hard to navigate in times of storm and sometimes known for being beautifully calm. The ocean is also known to symbolize hope, truth, and in some cases, mystery and magic.

A universal symbol of change, well if that doesn’t describe my current situation to a T; and present at turning points in a story – my god, that’s beautiful. I will now be referring to my current unemployed and job-seeking state as my turning point.

In dreams, water represents your current emotional state of mind. Sometimes we are unable to show our emotions in our awake life, so your dreams show you your emotional state using water.

At this moment in time, during my turning point, I like to think that I am unpredictable and uncontrollable but ever present, despite being bombarded with storms, like the ocean.
